Dado/raised mouldings - available in the UK ??

Not being silly. I didn’t explain very well. The link is so I could explain the type of item I wanted. I don’t know what they are called as they seem to have lots of names: dado, raised moulding, edging etc so I’d like to see different types of the item at the link I sent. Colours, profiles...

Dado/raised mouldings - available in the UK ??

Seems you can easily get these in the USA etc but over here in the Uk we are finding it difficult to find them. this is what I’m talking about. We want them to go around a “panel” on the wall of mosaic tiles containing the shower controls and jets etc...

Removing limestone walls tiles - without breaking

Yep. And yep. this is an old one. I’ve done two new showers that are 100% rock solid in terms of water penetration. This one was a bit of a hack/rush job and it had small leak that grew :( I learnt from this mistake. I do not like removing cement board. It fights and fights. The whole damn...

Removing limestone walls tiles - without breaking

Trying to repair a failed shower area. To ensure the floor is resealed properly I need to remove the lower row of wall tiles. I realise this is likely a fools’ errand. Tiles are honed limestone Any suggestions for how to do this without breaking them ? I’ve thought about using an oscillating...

    Laying porcelain external tiles

Firstly, you can’t use mortar to bed them UNLESS you first prime the porcelain tiles. The moral won’t adhere very well, if it all Because of this I actually used exterior grade Mapei tile adhesive to set my porcelain patio tiles. I say tiles, mine are 20mm thick and meant for outside. I did...

Extending size of wet room former, best way?

What’s the best way to extend the size of a former ? This is to replace a failed installation so the size of the area is fixed and the former I have is the largest I could find. There will be a 4” gap around two edges (the former is pushed in to one corner of the larger area) that I’ll need...

Wet room former drain design - weird, right?

Ah. That makes sense. NOTE: For those not familiar with what I’m on about I’ve tried to attach a picture of one I fitted last year.

Wet room former drain design - weird, right?

I’ve installed a few of these now and they tend to have a slight built-in up-stand (plastic usually) around the drain. Why is this ?? Surely the whole point of these formers is to both help with the slope but ALSO to ensure that any water that does make it through a cracked tile or failed...
