kitchen hood on top floor needs an open window to work

Hi, I've had a kitchen hood installed, by a non professional. When the hood is on, the air appears to blow back through the walls(electrical sockets). I'm told that this is common if you live on the top floor of an appartment, which I do. The solution is further suggested that I should...

Sticking glass (lacobel?) sheets to cupboard doors?

Hi I'm about to build a wardrobe. I plan to use white melamine chipboards for everything including the doors. On top of these doors, i'd like to 'glue' decorative sheets of glass- lacobel to cover them up. Is this recommended? and would silicon do the trick? cheers, Xav

    recirculating island hoods

Hi, I heard that recirculating hoods are crap compared to vented ones. But some of these island ones look fantastic costing loads more ie the designish pendant like ones that are recirculating only. Surely these must work properly. I'm contemplating getting one since there's one on sale. Not...

converting a wall range cooker hood into an island one

there must be a way to add support, to able to mount it from the ceiling. But yeh its the back i'm mostly concerned about. Is it difficult to modify the back, adding a stainless steel cover somehow? preferably with rounded edges?
