    Thanks for that picasso Sorry, just double checking, so if i leave the programmer/ clock in situ - an just replace the wiring to the Hive receiver, where do the wires go on the Hive receiver? Might sounds stupid this, but from the boiler to the receiver do I need to take power from the mains...

    yallo, the cable i have used is JSL 100% copper utp cat5e 24awg 100% bare solid copper conductor (well thats what it says on the spool) i will try with the ready made cables, if they are pants, will get some rg59 cheers

    cheers for the replies... i used Cat5 as i work in IT so have bulk spools of it i was using one pair for video and another pair for the power (an snipping the rest off) i will order ready made coax cables (shotgun?) an hopefully that will improve things regarding the temperature...
