Plumbing alone takes a while - gas is and always was a different ball game .As was servicing. A lot of those who know boilers assume they know pipework - sadly they don`t.You have my sympathies, sounds like you have been unlucky. That is the problem with this trade now, everybody thinks they can go on a course and be a black belt in plumbing/heating in a few weeks or months when in reality it takes many years of proper training and experience.
There are a lot of good guys out there but there is even more dross. Unfortunately we end up getting tarred with their brush.

I do have a lot of air in the system - but can't vent it out (in the towel rails just bubbles out with the water). Also - have had the power flush but the water that comes out of the radiators is really black - so I am even more confused unless it has dislodged a lot of dirt that is now circulating about.
