Planning issue for second garage

Hi

I'm contemplating building a second garage on the other side of the house. This will close off unhindered pedestrian access from front to back garden. I plan for the new garage to have full doors either end.

Is this an issue that planners would worry about?

You may require planning and/or building regulation approval...

You don't have pedestrian access to your private front/rear gardens unless they are open to the public

So its not a material planning consideration

Thanks for the comments - I'm aware I'd need planning permission as it will be attached to the house and I've already used up my permitted development.

Glad it sounds like lack of unhindered front to back pedestrian access wouldn't be a planning problem

The PD rules changed on 1st October 2008 so there's less of the "using up" nowadays
