the lad bought this 3 months ago off ebay. runs nicely , pulls ok and generally is doing what its meant to but has developed an annoying problem.it cuts out for no reason .it has done it 5/6 times over two months.
cuts out you sit there, half hour later it restarts,
first garage said fuel.there are 3 fuel pumps , cheapest to replace is inside the tank, done that and lo and behold 3 weeks later cuts out. this caused him bother at work plus it was an awkward spot.****ed off so he decides its going.brother in law has a mate at kwikfit, mobile van with computer, plugs it in and says 5 faults all to do with the mechanical fuel pump, low pressure and the control bar?
to buy and fit a new pump is a lot of money.anyone like to offer an opinion or know of a reasonable price for one,
we are north of brum near cannock

very bad for chafeing wiring. causes similar symptoms. over gearbox area usually.

never replaced a pump on one of these, but repaired more than my fair share wiring.

can you post codes read by kfit?

cheers
dave

well davie i have no codes to tell you about, just a quote for a new pump.£350 plus £50 to fit ,not sure what to do as we dont have the dough and still struggling to get our heads around the pump fault.why does,nt it happen more often if its the pump.
im finding more and more frustrating to go near a mechanic or garage, im ok near a boiler but cars are wearing me down. rant over

as davie says do a thorough inspection of the wiring as these type of faults are normally wiring related especially on french and italian crap
if you cant find any faults then a specialist diagnostic is your only hope, they will be able to run pressure tests to confirm the defective part

Hi sounds like we have very same problem, I too have a doblo, its the muitijet one 1900cc, I have had mine about three months, had it cut out a couple of times but when it started and seemed fine I just thought leave it and lets see what happens, prob now is its stopping a good few times, its as if you have just turned it off, no spluttering just stops, I am now getting p~@'ed off with it cant trust it so booked it into a garage next week, just really dont want a bloody big bill, so have you had anymore luck with yours????

No we didn't change the pump and we ended up getting rid
Part chopped it, once you lose confidence in a vehicle it's hard

Yeah I have thought about it, but I will see what the garage says, give it one more chance, I really like the van, it's just the right size, but I guess I will have too see.
