I have a 03 master van, I stuck in £15 of deseil in it and driving fine, until you boot it a bit and about 2600 revs it's wants to go but like holds back. Now when it sits and you rev to about 2500/2600 and hold it on it it drops down revs like not enough fuel. Then when I started it after few hours it sounds like its taking in air!! Then after min or two it's fine sits there idling quiet happy.

So looked about for sencers etc but all seems to be plug in. I pulled out the air flow sencer and it didn't even want to rev so pluged that back in so that seems to be fine!

Check all all pipes after the air flow sencer all seems to be ok. While I was checking and had parts off I noticed which I think is the EGR was twisted round and only have one bolt in it so took it out and cleaned it and put it in the right way and put 2 new bolts in it so it has three like it should but problem still there! Am thinking the EGR is faulty maybe as I have never touch this up till now as only bought van so someone has been touching it.

Any ideas or help what this problem could be would be really great.

Many thanks Paul.

Get that EGR valve working correctly and I'm sure all will be well.....!
Someone's obviously been faffing with it.

Hi guys,

Thank for info. But when I do fixs the EGR it will sort out the smoke side of it but won't sort out the problem what happens when you rev it and hold it at 2650 revs. As for engine lights on well none have came on until last night the stop light and engine light when I was holding it to 2650 but only for a second. They have never came back on since.

you could try blanking the egr valve off, either make a small plate yourself or pay a couple of quid for one from ebay.
This may help you find out if its causing the issue, be aware though that on some cars it will put the engine management light on

Yes on this type you can't put a blanking plate on!! This is how who ever did it before I bought the van they turn it about as that's what they did block it this way because of the way the holes are! I am thinking the turbo boost pipe is split or the senser is needing replaced.

Any other ideas will be good tho.

Cheers guys, Paul.
