Hi we have a:
vauxhall Vivaro,
05 plate,
1.9
145k

That doesn't seem to like starting properly in the mornings, it will not idle properly and even cuts out! we have tried mass air flow sensor, egr valve, boost pressure sensor, turbo pressure sensor, new rubber o ring seal for mass airflow, checked all wires for injectors, put on diagnostic machine and all codes were wiped off and nothing bought back on since, checked air filter, exhaust looked at and vacuum hoses checked. But still runs like a bag of sh*t, it will not rev higher than 2k, and the other day my boyfriends foot was to the floor and the rev counter didn't even responde. please can someone help us before we loose the will to live!!

well it must be either fuel/air/exhaust/engine management problem...

(sounds like a lot I know)

what did the diagnostics readout show?

I had a similar problem and it was they throttle position sensor on a seat leon...

Is it misfiring at all?

Thanks for the replies both, the read out is at home and i am currently in work, however he hasnt checked the fuel filter so that will be next now. The read out off the machine were
EGR Valve
Turbo pressure sensor
heater plug circuit, my boyfriend seems to think it might be the heater plug circuit as its the inital cold start that seems to be a problem but not 100% he has spent over £500 so far so its takin the p*ss a bit.
The code numbers were bteween 1804 - 1806 but i havent got the print out with me to say which code went with what problem sorry.

Hi< any joy with problem, my vivaro doing exact same!

Hi guys, common problem this, have come across it many a time, one of your injectors is down, its failing to close off properly and therefore the fuel pump is struggling to make/keep the rail pressure (300bar) needed to sustain the engine running, unfortunately the injectors for this arent cheap, and are a pig to get out (especially if its No1) if your engine management light is on the chances are it will bring up a P0301/2/3 or 4 depending on which cylinder has the problem, or if your engine light is not on then a leak off test will show that one or more of the injectors is throwing back either too much deisel or none at all.
most deisel specialists have leak off testers and most have diagnostics thatll read the ecu
it also depends where you are in the country too as garage prices vary dramatically form north to south
if you need more advise pm me and i can point you in the direction of someone close to you
