I cannot give you the definitive answer, only my opinion. Thermal stores that I have experience of, ie Gledhills and Boilermates, suffered from sludge and cannot be powerflushed easily and also suffer from scaling unless precautions are taken. My only advice is to fit one and then form your own opinion when it goes tits up. Unvented for me anytime. Good luck with your choice.
The joy of a thermal store is that you can easily plug in renewables and solid fuel (multi fuel stove), as these need a conventional vented store and not sealed. But the beauty is that the DHW is mains pressure still (3 bar if you have that on your mains)
If you are not into all the multi energy source set up just go for an unvented cylinder!
Thermal stores are great if you have multiple heating appliances particularly if some don't have thermostat control as stoves, aga cookers etc. heating boilers can be open vent or sealed by another coil. They can be ordered to individual requirements, can also be fitted with twin immersions if you have PV panels. If your boiler is under sized it will help to cope as store works as a buffer store
A multi energy thermal store will still need a heat dump.
Given the small size of most domestic thermal stores you might as divert excess energy via a manifold direct to the unvented cylinder and then the CH.
