My large spare room is used by number one child. Looking to split it in half and create and second door for a nursery for number 2 child.

I'm fine withe removal and addition of stud wall. But, one if the rooms won't have an external window. Do I have to get one added for UK regs and child safety? Or is a window opening above the door? Vent through to the other room or an external vent/extractor all suitable alternatives?

Thanks

Nope, a habitable room always needs a window for a secondary escape route if the doorway is blocked, for example by fire.

i had a dilema similar to this,so what we done was to buy some extra tall bookcases join the together alternating and screw them to the wall coming down the middle of the room, allowing a door size space for 1 child to enter exit, still a shared bedroom but split giving both some privacy and there own space.still only got the 1 center light and still gives the room the natural light from the windows.
