So I got a fella round from a well know website, basically to cut a long story short he has caused damage to my brickwork , left the job not finished and because he couldn't close the door on my out building he has slammed it a few times and then kicked it more than once causing the door to bend. And now not close....

I told him I did not want him on my property and to leave before he damaged anything else. He has now said "oh I will be coming back don't you worry" which I take as a threat. He had admitted to kicking the door and I have him on cctv.

Now the door is bent and a door company has told me you will never get a dent like that out of a 7ft metal door.

Don't no where I stand now. I have not paid him and he owes me money for the damage he has done also my makita drill had gone missing but he has denied that he even saw it...

I don't see why I should have to pay for someone else's damage. the bloke is stressing me out now as I don't have much money as it is and now I have this mess to sort out...

Have a word with Local Trading Standards, You could report the theft of the drill to the Police.

Get in touch with the website, and put a formal complaint in against him, and inform them that you hold them equally liable for the damage. You then need quotes to repair the damage that's been caused.

Do you have legal insurance on you're household insurance policy, otherwise you'll need to find your local CAB, and get them to advise you how to draft a letter to the fella that as the job isn't finished, you obviously won't be paying for the work, and that you expect compensation for the door and the brickwork, or you will put in a small claim for damages against him. Point out to him that you have him on CCTV for kicking and damaging the door (which you can also show to the police) and advise him that as you consider his comments about "oh I will be coming back don't you worry" to be a threat, this will also be passed on to them.

What was the well known website. I would advise you in future not you use them. Best tradesmen/women are found by word of mouth. Not by some middle money making company, they will not care that they have sent a thieving thug around to you.

He had never been back since. I claimed on my insurance and gave his details over as I found his insurance policy online.

Not heard from him again it's been weeks now
