I am fitting a double glazing window for the first time and need some advise on fitting the window sill.

In reference to the photo below:

A) is the prefered method. The only problem is, theres a 6mm void and doesn't look right!

B) is what I prefer to do - but is there any problems to follow if I did it like this?

If I placed the sills lip into the grove on the window frame, the frame sits flush with the frame. If I placed the sills lip behind the frame, the sills slop falls behind the frames edge.

Is 'B' ok to do or will there be problems?

Thanks in advance.

A
Also make sure you silicone the back edge and 2 ends of the cill where the window sits

As above, if you fit the frame on the cill as per picture B you'll block the inbuilt 'concealed' drainage slot, the frame needs to overhang which I suspect is that 6mm void you mention, it needs that for the water to drain away, once the window is fitted DO NOT seal this gap, it's meant to be there, take Gazmans advice and seal the back edge and ends

silicone back of the cil, is that after I have screwed down the cil? or silicone the back then screw down?

Where do you guy suggest I drill the holes on the left of this frame?

I know 1 near the top, 1 near the bottom..... but the middle is part of the frame!!

Thanks.

A thick bead of silicone along the back of the cill and the 2 little sides and sit the frame on top and screw together

Welds from the outside of the frame or the welds from the inside where the glass sits? The welds goes in a 45• angle!

I'm measuring up now and just realised, the middle has a weld in it too! Do I go 150mm above/below as well or is it only the corner welds that will strain?

Having the transom in the middle makes it awkward but ideally yes, could you not get away with just 2 fixings or put 4 in otherwise

I've brought some frame anchors (m8x140)

They say 'don't over tighten' - why? How can you over tighten? The tighter you turn, the end of the anchor is inside the brickwork and thefore grips the brick NOT the frame????

Also the cill, it's corrugated...... Do I will leave for air to flow or can I fill with e/foam?

Fill in the yellow shaded bit with silicone, it stops water running sideways and wetting your wallpaper, no need to fill the hollow cill in with anything

I've got some Dow Corning 796 neutral silicone (white) this should be good, right? - I've seen a lot doing it in clear but can't see a problem with this!
