People back then thought Hitler was the answer to their problems, how were they to know that he would turn out to be such a huge disappointment.
Very sad that you refer to Hitler simply as a 'disappointment'!

But I guess certain quitters equating the EU to hitler and the nazis does tend to sway the gullible / easily led...

But should we not question the morality of a situation wherein only 27% of the population get to decide the future once and for all for 100% of the population for generations to come?

Actually - don't bother to answer - I already know what people like you think about that.

I’ll bother. Just like I bothered to vote. As your signature says, 28% couldn’t vote and 20% didn’t but who's to say that if they could and would have voted that they wouldn’t have voted in the same proportions? Why do you losers keep saying that those that 'let you down' would have voted to stay? Why? There’s no logic in that. Anyway, in case you hadn’t noticed, those that bothered were the victors and we are leaving. It’s called democracy, I believe. I can honestly say, if the vote had gone the other way I’d accept it and wouldn’t have kept going on about it but, I'm happy to accept that I’m among the 27% of the most knowledgeable people in the country. :D

I'm going away for a fortnight. If you can wait that long I can bring you back what you need. I'm taking orders now.

What I think about it, is the arguments about percentages are irrelevant. If you want to complain do so about the criteria set for the referendum not the result.

I personally think Corbyn should grow a spine and put his name on a peoples vote.

The Tories wont or politically cant do it, so I think it can only come from Labour.

This, apparently, is the Lisbon treaty and it comes into force in 2020. Enjoy

This has been doing the rounds for a while.
Im a Eurosceptic and have never been keen on the mission creep the EU generate in each subsequent treaty.

However the list you posted is largely incorrect, or at least interpreted wrongly.

In many cases nation states can veto those that they disagree with, so most of the points made are actually more benign than they seem.

I dont agree with the ever increasing EUs advance as a political union, nor its general move to a federal Europe -which is a valid concern that remainers like to ignore.

However on balance, staying in the EU is a better option than leaving with any of the options currently available. And the cost of upheaval due to leaving 40 years of integration is just too damaging. On balance, the positives of staying are currently higher than the negatives for staying. Thats my view, somebody that voted leave.

If you are off to Europe - can you bring back a barrow load of optimism please. There is loads on the continent and feck all here.(y)
Continent are not exstatic about losing UK dosh, for sure

Most ordinary continental folk are ambivalent towards the financial aspect of losing the UK out of the EU. It will cost them pennies. They all think we are bonkers too.
No they do not..Last European I spoke to thought it took great balls to leave, was full of admiration for us brexit heroes and wishes his country would leave.!!

I won't start getting into a pi$$ing contest about who sees the most Europeans, though I'm sure you are just as well travelled. However, the ordinary folk of Europe stand to lose a lot less than we do, especially if we leave in a 'no deal' capacity.

That's the problem, and it was caused by the way the referendum was structured - we did not do it in the way that other countries who successfully integrate referenda into their politics do.

And so now we do have the situation where only 27% of the electorate get to decide the future once and for all for 100% of the population for generations to come.

That's not democracy, it's mob rule via the ballot box.
