Kitchen mixer tap squeals and leaks when other taps get used.

As above, when using other taps the mixer tap in tge kitchen squeaks and leaks. It does stop when the other taps are off or when I give the cold side a little nudge. Now i tried to take out the valve but the screw started to break and i don't think it will loosen without breaking the head off tge screw completely. I've tried WD40 but no luck with the screw.
Any tips please.

If the tap is several years old you should consider buying a new tap.

Tap is about 8 years old, so one would expect a few years left of its life

Including of the tip of the screwdriver and the screw it won't turn.

And indicate the part(s) that seem jammed.

There is ,and has been for many years ,more cheap and inferior quality taps on the market than there are good ones. Yours has failed after 8 years , thats not too bad. I replaced one last week ,kitchen tap , only three years old. Customer paid 130 quid for it ,and a very well known brand ,it was leaking through the body of the tap casting and irreparable

Sorry for delay and image quality. As you can see from 1st image, there is a small gap between the cold handle and the body of the tap. The screw in the second image is breaking when using a screwdriver and won't budge.

I'm hoping that the pipes from the old tap will fit the new one as would rather avoid replacing the elbows to the feed.
The cold feed is a mix of copper pipe and plastic push fit elbows and the hot feed is plastic elbows and pipe, now compression to 1/2 bsp (assuming the hose end is that size) is easy enough but is there a plastic 15mm to 1/2 bsp push fit or can compression go onto plastic with inserts.
I've used compression fittings before in a previous job but that was hydraulics and going onto steel tube so this is a little more delicate hence the questions.

The tap you intend to buy ,comes with flexible hoses for connecting to the supply pipework .The flexis will most likely have a female 1/2 inch bsp thread ( or maybe 3/8 bsp). So will not connect directly to the supply pipes. You will need fittings to suit.
Compression fittings can be used with plastic pipes ,but you must fit pipe stiffeners into the plastic pipes . Ideally,stiffeners should be matched to the pipe brand as the sizes vary from one manufacturer to another. As long as the stiffeners are a tight fit into the pipe its acceptable to mix brands.
