How many hours needed......roughly?!

Always amazes me how long it takes to do stuff. When I was renovating my rooms I would look and think, that bit will take an hour. 3 hours later, still doing it ...

Yeah, I had the same experience with my house.....took 4 months for a complete gut and renovation job. But part of the reason it took so long was how inefficient I was. I hate to think how many stupid trips I had to make down to the builders merchants, all because of poor planning - that was like 1.5hrs each time, and sometimes twice a day!!!! Also, there were a lot of things I did that just DID NOT need doing. Like coving, which my wife still grills me about today! And I wasn't using the polystyrene easy fit stuff either so that took flipping ages to fit on my own! Makes me laugh at my stupidity at the time, but I certainly learnt from it!!!

You think 4 months is a long time for that work - I would be chuffed if I could do it at all(y)

Cheers mate! I guess it wasn't too bad, but living in the mess and nearly getting divorced over the whole thing (yes, seriously!) and all the stress it caused made it feel like a REALLY long time! I learnt that planning is key.....oh, and perhaps not living in a building site with a young child!!!:D
