Hi all,

our (integrated) Beko washing machine is not draining, so never enters a spin nor finishes the programme. Unfortunately the pump filter is stuck (after a half turn I can't turn anyfurther) and it has been stuck for at least three month, but only now the machine is not draining anymore.
Do you think its just the blocked filter? The water is not going down at all, not even after 30mins of sucking (I think I can hear the pump).
If it is likely to be a bigger issue, we'd rather buy a new machine.

Thanks all.
Chris

If you can hear the pump running there are really only two options - a blockage (very likely) or the pump impeller has broken off (very unlikely).

The filter needs to be taken out. If it really is stuck, then unplug the machine, move the machine out, tip it backwards and the pump/filter assembly can be accessed from underneath and removed from the machine.

Thanks flameport.
I will have a go at this (in 2 weeks' time only).

Pump & filter are usually a single item, with 1 hose from the drum and another to the waste. There will be an electrical connection for the pump which usually is a just a plug that can be pulled out.
The whole thing is usually held in with a couple of screws in the front panel.

I had this on a Bosch; I eventually managed to open it with big pump pliers, but broke the cap doing it. A replacement cap was a standard part and not expensive. Maybe buy one before you get physical?

I lubed the thread and seal on the new one with silicone grease after cleaning out the pump. It's usually coins and bra wire, but sometimes broken credit cards.

If you have to turn the machine over, resolve never to buy an Integrated washer again.

Do not try & remove the filter cap while the machine is full of water. If the drain hose comes out of the back of the machine at the bottom rather than the top then drop the hose below the level of the pump & gravity should drain the water. You could try squirting WD40 around the cap then working it anticlockwise & clockwise until it comes free then clear out any blockage.

Maybe it is a bayonet fitting and just needs half a turn then pull.

Do try to buy a new cap. Then you can see. And can also fit it if the old one breaks.

Thanks guys. Pump is sorted now, but now there is a leak from the front panel below the soap drawer...

Came back from holidays yesterday, used a wet vac to get most of the water out, turned the machine to the side and removed the internal drain hose, using pump pliers, found a pair of baby socks in the filter and some other residue! The machine is draining well again.

But it leaks from the front panel, below the soap drawer. First I thought it was directly below the drawer, but it's actually a bit further down, see photo. When the water runs through the drawer, there is a slow leak where the panel joins. When I push against it, it leaks more. There was some laundry detergent residue which I wiped off, and in two spots it looks as if there are two pin hole leaks (could I have done this when I flipped the machine - carefully I thought)? Do you think I could try sealing this with silicone or can you think of something else I could try?
