Zanusi washing machine spins slowly...

Hi,
our washing machine spins only slowly...
The water pumps out and the drain filter is clean
but, the machine does not spin fast enough.
It has a 500/ 1000 cycle switch which works ok, but
the machine seems to be spinning even slower than 500.
