The house I'm in just now is the 1st one I've had with a gas cooker. I don't think there's anything actually wrong with it but I'm just wondering if their supposed to be regularly safety checked or serviced like boilers?

Thanks

Um, never checked mine ...

It's gas. Gas is just as dangerous in a gas cooker as it is in a boiler or a gas fire. 99% of gas cooker owners don't bother, including me even though I pay to have my boiler and my gas fire checked and cleaned every year. I suppose cookers are only used intermittantly compared to boilers and fires. But if you have a concern get it checked. It will cost you but much much cheaper than having something go wrong.

Only required in rental properties where the landlord supplies the cooker, not owner occupied.
