Morning all, I’ve just fitted some under cabinet lights in my kitchen and am experiencing a slightly strange delay when switching off the lights. One of the lights is taking half a second or so longer than the other lights to switch off. It’s the same light switch but the offending light is connected to a different transformer than the others (all the same brand new kit - it’s just on the other side of a gap in the units). It’s not the worst issue in the world but I’d like to understand why it’s like that. Many thanks.

Most likely they are not using transformers, but switch mode power supplies. These supplies typically have a largish capacitor across their output which discharges into the light on switch off. The supply with one light will take longer to discharge than one with several.

Try not to confuse transformers and switch mode supplies, they are completely different things.

That makes sense, there’s just one on that side and 3 on the other. Thank you
