I want to board across 2 x 6ft fence panels, horizontally. Ideally covering the middle fence post to give horizontal boards 12ft long with small gaps in between. something like this (but with the old panel painted black behind it):
What wood should i use? going to need to be 4.2m long, ideally 6" wide (approx). I was thinking 12.5mm thick to give a bit of flex if needed? Will i need treated timber, even if I'm going to paint it with a fence paint anyway?
Any advice please guys, greatly appreciated
