will new boiler be too low?

thanks muggles, I realise your point, its just some makes don't do a 12kw, I was told Ideal don't
gasmanstu yes that makes sense to me , just that the installer doesn't want to drill a new fluehole but wants to use existing which goes back to my original point of the new boiler being too low ie just a few inches above kitchen worktop

can have top or rear flue.

comes in 12kw

use the rear flue option and your height problem is solved and you can use existing flue hole.

EDIT: just realised all the boilers require a 22mm gas connection. however providing you have the correct flow and pressure to the boiler, no reason why you cant adapt existing pipework.

Tell him where you want the boiler, same space underneath as the old one. Otherwise get another quote. I think they can drill a new hole and install the new flue from the inside. Trouble is blocking up the old hole and rendering over with cement on the second floor.

Pardon me but the old hole is a large square hole so will still need re-working inside and out so you still need scaffolding etc.
The old boiler is a balanced flue, not fan assisted. Better a new hole which will give a better fit for the new flue.

yes, makes sense, may be difficult to use old square hole properly, will have to get someone else to quote as this guy, even with a scaffold, doesn't seem to want to drill a new hole above the old, thanks
