I have a bronze lock-lever on plate on the front door. The plate is very long. It is retained with four raised-head screws. They have all become loose due to movement when tugging the door open.

The original screws look like no. 4 x 3/4"and have the usual tapered shape of woodscrews, so only the point and thin, tapered end penetrates the wood. They are only on the inside of the door, there is no outside handle.

I think I need a thick parallel screw, like the Euroscrews used in kitchen cabinets, to grip into the worn holes.

What do you call that sort of screw?
