what mix for haunching around soil pipe?

Evening all,

Got some benching to reinstate around a soil pipe connection into the manhole cover.

I've heard something about granite dust being used as it's hard wearing.
Would the mix benefit from waterproofer aswell?

2:1 sharp or screed sand. Grano can be used but it's a waste of time for a small repair. Trowelling the surface smooth and hard is the important bit, so don't mix it too wet.
