Haunching a Soil Pipe

I share the main soil drain along the back of my house with my neighbour. I am about to build an extension which will cover over the soil pipe, and I have been advised to HAUNCH the drain. What does that mean?

I've had a quick search on the web, but no real detail what is involved.

Any info would help.
