Hello all,

I’ve had a rummage in the archive and can’t see anything similar to my query so here goes!

Is the dygizone able to switch lights on at dusk and off at a set time then allow the sensors to take over or is it a one or the other arrangement?

Also is there any benefit to connecting it to a hikvision dvr?

many thanks

not familiar with the unit and have to say not sure after reading the manual. I know some have used these on here so they maybe able to give a more informed answer, or call GJD?

Mode 4 -STD = Outside lights will only operate at night with detection. Detectors on that zone will only operate that zone.

Thanks for the reply, yes I had a read of the manual and want much the wiser. Is suspect these are moderately specialist units for those ‘in the know’ not I in other words!

I’ll give GJD a buzz as you suggest.

Had a chat with a very helpful chap at GJD, the system does not have a built in photocell capability but we discussed the possibility of setting an artificially early time, for instance 1600, then including a photocell in the load side of the relay to the external lights, seems plausible?

You would have to wire a seperate photocell and timer in parallel with the permanent live and switched 230v lighting output for the relevant zone on the GJD controller. The cell would need to be first in circuit, then feed the contacts of the timer with the load output from the cell. Set an on time of around 3pm on the timer and then the off time for when you want the lights to go over to PIR only. Lights will come on at dusk, switch off at the predetermined time and then come back on with any PIR trigger afterwards until dawn. May get a bit messy if you want to do this over several zones as you can't just common the switched outputs together. In which case I would look into controlling the lights using the low voltage connections (see photo) with a 12 volt photocell and timer

As for connecting to a DVR/NVR, it can be done. I presume you want it to bring the lights on when line crossing or intrusion detection occurs? Or to be able to switch them on through the CCTV app? Both would be possible
