Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Can anyone tell me what this drains is called? I'm trying to see if it can be moved/replaced with a modern one but struggling to find any similar ones online, so possibly knowing what it is called will help me..... I'm thinking on extending the kitchen out and the wall would land right on top of the drain.

Thank you

Its a Foul water drain. It will need to be moved as part of your extension. Basically the builder will dig it out back to the clay pipes either side of the inspection pit and install a new inspection access point probably just outside your extension wall.

Can you account for where the pipe goes front to back? It looks like it might serve a neighbouring property too? If so its a lot more complex, as it is then a public sewer and you will need a build over agreement from the water authority.
