When you say "4 trip switches" I assume you mean these.
Only the one highlighted relates to the immersion, but if everything is switched 'on' [including the main switch to the right] and it doesn't work, the only simple thing you could check is to see if the overheat cut-out button needs resetting. Sometimes it's an integral part of the thermostat as below, other times it is a separate device wired in at the side of it. Usually you will hear a click if it has tripped and needs resetting.
The bottom element should be the 'off peak' [overnight] immersion heater. Note though that some older immersion heaters don't have an overheat cut-out button.
Failing that, it will probably require someone competent with a multimeter to test the heating element and wiring etc.,
