Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

When you say "4 trip switches" I assume you mean these.

Only the one highlighted relates to the immersion, but if everything is switched 'on' [including the main switch to the right] and it doesn't work, the only simple thing you could check is to see if the overheat cut-out button needs resetting. Sometimes it's an integral part of the thermostat as below, other times it is a separate device wired in at the side of it. Usually you will hear a click if it has tripped and needs resetting.

The bottom element should be the 'off peak' [overnight] immersion heater. Note though that some older immersion heaters don't have an overheat cut-out button.

Failing that, it will probably require someone competent with a multimeter to test the heating element and wiring etc.,

Hi there,

yes all switches up, I tried the immersion on its own and nothing so thought I’d just switch them all in case they were labelled incorrectly

I’ve opened the cap and taken a photo, it looks different to the one you sent but the hole on the left between the 2 screws is maybe a reset button? It feels springing like a button lol
It didn’t click or anything but it did feel like a button

As attached everything on, last night turned one of the storage heaters on as well at the wall, set it to input 1 and output 1 as a test and nothing this morning. No water and no heat from the heater

So it’s just not kicking in overnight,
Nothing seems to happen

I’ve asked my friend to contact the company now and get someone to take a look, I’m at a complete loss
