Repairing ceiling crack

Hi

I've dug out this ceiling crack with a screwdriver and filled, but as you can see its returned. How would you fix?

I've got scrim and also some old self adhesive paper repair tape if you recall what that is - I can't find it at Screwfix any more. But would rather not scrim as I think that means I'll have to feather in over a distance like 300mm each side?

The crack runs the 3m length of the ceiling. I can't see any popped nails or screws. Should I add some more screws as part of the repair?

I think there is a chance that just sanding back and repainting will his it. To get rid of it completely will need reinforcement tape and wider reskim.

By reinforcement tape do you mean scrim or something else?

Yes - fibreglass scrim tape.

Well I tried and it came back again. I've dug out with a Dremel now. Suggestions on repairing please? You can see the crack goes all the way through the old jute scrim and boards.

I was thinking of filling with caulk or another flexible filler (like fibacryl) then using a paper repair tape over the top?

Otherwise if scrim and easyfill is the only way, fine, but that means going at least 4mm deep over the scrim so a lot more feathering out.

Try hybrid polymer sealant. It's stretchy like silicon but can be painted.

Knock off more to 75mm either side.
Masonry resin you can get from Toolstation or screwfix will need to be injected to fill blocks or bricks crack.
Cover with metal lath (70mm either side) which you can get from some DIY stores but might need building merchant.
Plaster over.

You can skip the metal lath and use plastering mesh but not so good

I would brush pva in to the crack and when dry, gun in some Toupret Fibacryl. The next day fill with Toupret redLite.
