We have a bathroom which doesn't get used so pretty much gets used as a storage cupboard. It's possible we want to bring the bathroom back into use at some point in the future so won't rip it out but I do want to decommission it for the medium term.

My thoughts are:

- Where there are isolation valves to the sink/toilet water feeds, shut these off.
- Remove the shower mixer and cap the pipes to prevent any leaks from the shower.
- Should I leave water in the toilet or empty it and block the u-bend with something to prevent odours?

Any advice welcome, cheers

Clingfilm the bog to retain the trap seal.
Do remember to remove on first re-use!

Unless you are cutting back the pipework and sealing off traps etc then just run all the outlets once a month - the hot taps till they heat up. That'll replenish the traps and flush out the pipework.

The toilet will retain its water seal for a lonnnnnng time - pour in a little bleach to avoid any bacteria build up and flush at the same time the taps are being done.
