The best advice is to power down to wire something up.

But as pointed out, if you take care you can do it live.

Hi there
I followed the feedback you both gave me and went exactly as you described. I now have another 32 zones available in Wintex and it was very easy to do. I can now add 2 more smoke/fire detectors !
 
Smoke detectors installed and working on new expander. Thanks once again, mission accomplished !
