Hi

So I got the trap changed a few months ago and now I see this leak (watch video). Any advise on what it is as that doesn't seem to be the trap.

Thanks!

Almost seems like it may be coming from the cable section for the pop up waste, hard to say with any conviction though, just from the video.

What can I do to show you clearer view. Will try to get some more pictures/videos

Hi, I have discovered that there is a consistent slow drip. Even with the tap closed. Should I change/have a go at tightening these fittings. Or is the problem likely a valve/tap gland? Thanks.

Still not sure where it's leaking from? If it's dripping from the waste or trap then sometimes disconnecting everything and redoing it can sort it out. Really all depends on where the leak is though.

Wouldn't be thinking valve or tap gland if it's leaking from the waste/trap setup.

Few more pictures and a clear video. The tub is completely dry so it cannot be coming from the tub drain outlet.

Thanks. Please see updated photos and video. It's weird because the tub is dry and taps closed. So wonder where the flow is coming from.

Made more progress. It seems it's where the tub is connected to the drain pipe that is leaking. Can this be fixed or will we need a new tub?

From that video above, it appears that the glass fibre tub itself is leaking and dripping onto the waste plug control box before running onto the waste fitting threads You could try stripping the complete waste assembly down and the refitting with some new sealant after thoroughly drying. Try that before committing to buying a new bath tub.

Yep - I would have the bath waste out and check all around for cracks, then refit with some silicone on the underside seal and see how that goes.

Sounds good. Should I install a new waste unit or just reinstall existing one.. doing this for the first time so any tips? Plumbers putty or silicone?

I always use a little silicone on the top and bottom of the seal to take up any imperfections in the bath's surface - not too much - and don't overtighten the lock nut, just needs nipped up and then left to cure for a time. Hate plumbers mate - gets everywhere and it's a mare to clean if and when servicing is needed.

Thank you for your help everyone. I am going to have a go at doing this myself. I opened the top drain and found this.. the white washer is completely gone. There is a grey plastic surround under the drain which was easy to break off. What part is this? Just wondering what I need to buy to do the job.. thanks.
