Is Exposed Lighting Twin and Earth Cable But Terminated In Debox Okay To Work Around?

I'm just redoing our bathroom and we had a twin and earth cable coming down from our attic to supply a shaving socket.

I've removed that (with the light circuit switched off and now terminated the wiring in a debox terminal box.

My question is - Once the power is back on is it safe enough to work around that? It's just going to be sitting in the corner of the room, while I knock away the last of the plaster and then it may be reused once we're remodelling.

But basically, if I was to knock against or touch the twin and earth itself, it can't cause any harm no?

If the terminals are secured from being able to touch each other inside the debox and there's no exposed wire outside the box then carry on

If it was done correctly, as above, then it's fine.
and then it may be reused once we're remodelling.
Will it be used in the same manner as before, and, assuming, properly connected to the shaver socket and correctly reinstalled, or will it be used in an unsuitable and potentially unsafe way, and especially while the remodelling work is ongoing?"

Your title mentions the word ‘exposed.’ If any part of the cable is exposed, then yes, touching it can will cause harm. However, if the cable is intact with its sheath, or simply saying the outer protective part, undamaged, simply touching the cable will not cause an electric shock. Think of it like any properly insulated wire, without damage, it is safe to touch from the outside.

Why do you think you would knock against the cable? That can be dangerous depends on how it's done.

But didn't you say it would be sitting in the corner?

Not for a shaver socket but perhaps to power some niche strip lighting.

If not, I'll just remove it up through the attic and remove the length of wire from the junction box.

But yeah, in the meantime, it'll just be in the corner unused but out the way and terminated in the box.

I was just being paranoid / daft I think...

Where is it exactly going to be located?

Now you have zones to consider. :giggle:
Not really sure yet to be honest. Probably at the end of our bath tub. Annoying space in the corner - Think the width on the bath wall is about 2.2m so there's this dead space at the end. Was thinking about building something in there and tiling around but only thing is it's an external wall I was hoping to maximise insulation with some thicker backer board, so might not do it at all.

In which case, I'd just remove from the junction box in the attic and pull the cable down...
