Hi all, I have a sink with only cold feed, but a monobloc tap with 2 1/2 inch tails. Can I block off the the hot feed with a brass male blanking plug? Thanks.

Do you only have a cold supply to that tap and that is the reason for capping the hot side ?

Thanks for the reply. I am being spooked by the worry of a stagnant dead leg in the flexible tail though; and have read about simply feeding cold water to both sides. Is that an acceptable solution? It's not for me, it's for my daughter...

You could get an M10/M12 blanking plug, tap tail size dependent, with a suitably sized O-Ring and use that

Could you branch the cold to provide two feeds? I guess it will provide water regardless of the orientation of the handle- that said I am not a plumber.

EDIT- sorry, just noticed that you have already asked that question
