That's nuts. This is why we’ve ended up here:![]()
But peanuts aren't nuts, Notch, so the warning is relevant. Thought you knew everything!

Definition of a troll.TROOOOOOOOOOOOOLL
I have given a solution before we became China's slaves a couple of decades ago: stop importing cheap rubbish, impose heavy tax on this crap and support British manufacturers. So because something comes in millions of containers, we’re supposed to just shrug and do jack? Really?
They're sold on dodgy platforms that can't be shut down because liberals like you would scream "FASCIST"!But the main question is, when a product literally could harm someone, is it genius to rely on consumer caution, or reckless negligence?
See above and don't complain.Cutbacks again.
Trading standards offices have been pared to the bone
More benefits of austerity.
What else comes in undetected? At what cost !
Lack of services, but more costs money.

Somebody made a conscious decision to stop a lot of our manufacturing ability and move it offshore. Concentrating on finance only.I have given a solution before we became China's slaves a couple of decades ago: stop importing cheap rubbish, impose heavy tax on this crap and support British manufacturers.
Everybody was laughing at me and calling me a conspiracy theorists.
Now China has us by the b@llox.
To destroy us they won't need to start any war nor waste any bullet; they would just block export to our country and we would be back to dark ages in a month or so.
Now, where do we take money to employ enough people to check every single container of shyte???
Taxpayer's money is not enough.
Besides, aren't you one of them welcoming all shyte from everywhere to invade our country?

I told you!
No, no, no.Somebody made a conscious decision to stop a lot of our manufacturing ability and move it offshore. Concentrating on finance only.
And unless you want low wages then there isn't much choice but to import stuff. Tariffs don't work (other than 1 or 2 specific targets maybe), other than just drive up the prices. It's a vicious circle, but to control imports you need staff. Comes at a cost. Pay it, or go without and watch the standards get lower and lower

Doesnt Highway man use Botox on his lips and eye lids?I agree, people must be crackers to inject thereselves with this rubbish.....and the women with the big lips (what's all that about) it just looks awful

Not sure, I know he's had a breast implant he could only afford the oneDoesnt Highway man use Botox on his lips and eye lids?

Then there's the Botox injections, which make them look like they have a duck's bill. Some cannot speak properly, due to the distortion of their lips.

If 20 or even 30 years ago we supported British manufacturers instead of buying the cheapest, we wouldn't be slaves today.
Don't blame anyone else but governments and stupid people who can't see past their nose.

ThatcherNo, no, no.
I've been saying that Chinese stuff is total rubbish and buying it is dangerous but everyone wants cheap, cheaper and cheapest, at risk of death.
I believe you're one of them supporting mass import of Chinese EV; apologies if it's not you.

I'm not a fan of cheap imports but we are now in a position where we can't afford anything else.Don't blame anyone else but governments and stupid people who can't see past their nose.

A troll, am I?
You might wish to revisit the the meaning of that term before employing it so carelessly. A troll is "a person who makes a deliberately offensive or provocative online post."
Now, if you can identify, rationally and civically, a singlew instance where I have done so where my contribution was deliberately offensive, or intended merely to provoke, I invite you to present it.
You will, I suspect, find that you cannot.
Expressing an informed opinion, challenging an assertion or introducing inconvenient facts does not constitute trolling. That you may find disagreement uncomfortable is not the same as my having been disagreeable.
If you wish to engage in discussion, by all means do so. If not, you might at least refrain from misusing words you evidently do not understand.
Throw away economy, built in obsolescence etc, it's all a race to the bottom. No, no, no.

A government that put it's people first. So what sort of government do you think we should have had which would have prevented UK companies from moving their factories abroad?
What powers would you have had them equipped with to enforce the prohibition? Sequestration of remaining UK assets? Forced cancellation of all the shares? Imprisonment of the directors and managers?
