Is this lintle OK?

Hi All,

I've recently taken down some plastering in my 1930s house.

I've got an old lintle that's currently overhanging it's header by about 1/1.5cm

The lintle is 3inch thick.

Do you think this would be OK, or do I need to address it.

Its survived the Luftwaffe in 1940, Dunkirk and D-Day. The atomic bomb over Japan didn't shift it, and it survived the Suez Crisis and the later Cuban Missile crisis, not to mention JFK's assasination.
The £-in-your pocket devaluation of 1967 had no effect, nor did the Winter of Discontent. It shrugged off the Falklands War, and the 1989 defenestration of our best PM since Churchill. Similarly, the Fall of the Berlin Wall didn't budge it; it smirked at Major and his Wet MPs post Thatcher. Not even the Brexit vote moved it.
There's no record of it being affected by the Wars in the Middle East, and our precipitous decline into third-world status. They can ban gas boilers, ban ICE cars, ban suggary foods, ban hurty words, ban coal fires but whatever life throws at your timber lintel, it still keeps supporting your home.
Relax.

Yes, but even this sturdy wooden lintle looks like it will struggle to survive sir Kier Starling. It will probably need a digital ID card to stay in my wall.
