A "hero" bystander who was filmed wrestling a gun from one of the Bondi Beach attackers has been named as 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed.

Video verified by the BBC showed Mr Ahmed run at the gunman and seize his weapon, before turning the gun round on him, forcing his retreat.

Moslem saves Jews in terror attack - Mr Netanyahu was unavailable for comment.

This thread is about the latest atrocity against the Jews.

Please, can people show some compassion for people affected by this tragedy and not use if for unrelated local (to the UK) political point scoring.

The footage of the brave man (who has turned out be muslim) tackling one of the gunman shows the best traits of humanity in my opinion. He also got shot in the process. I don't know if i would have had the balls to do what he did. I hope that the fact that he is muslim might bring some kind of unified support for the Jews around the world who are being unfairly targeted because of what has happened with Israel, Iran and Gaza.

I note that Notch7's post has been removed, hopefully at his request, and my responses to him have been edited by the mods. Well done to them.

When Ahmed al-Ahmed tackled and wrested a gun from an alleged shooter at Bondi beach, he was simply thinking that he “couldn’t bear to see people dying”...If the anti-immigrant protestors in Australia had their way he wouldn't have been there to make that brave move. An irony entirely lost on them, i'd guess. Our resident anti-Moslem mob should take note.
