As title, want to continue the tiling next to the hob onto the tall cabinets that will be about 40cm away from hob, they are 6mm tiles, so not too heavy, but need to choose the correct adhesive, I already have some mapei super flexible powder, will that be ok?

You might want to consider epoxy grout. It is a pig to work with but any cooking splashes should not stain it. Mapei have a wide range of colours.

To resurrect this one, the tiles have come away from the carcass.
I used Mapei flexible poder adhesive.
Any recommendations for the behind tile adhesive to use?
Several of them have just pulled away, the adhesive bed is a full cover and still well stuck to the tiles that came free.

It is kitchen carcass, so white coated alrrady, what primer shou;d I have used?

Even for a brand new coated mdf,no stains, and a well adhered surface.
The tile backimg adhesive came off with a smooth surface, is shellac on paint the right thing to do?

At a minimum, I would sand the laminate finish first and then prime it. SBR might suffice.

Why not ask Mapei?

Alternatively, you could use a MS polymer such as Stixall or CT1 to glue them on. That said, you will need something to stop them sliding down whilst the sealant cures.

+1 for ‘opps’ ideas above. After sanding, you could add neat SBR, to RapidSet adhesive and a couple of handfuls of sand to make a fast drying rough slurry that you paint on first. Warning - it’s messy and any tools used go in the bin !
