I think we have had it

It’s a commercial decision by a private football organisation which relies on its Musslim players for success and profit.

Wasn’t chariots of fire about a strict Christian who wouldn’t run on Sunday. That triple jumper was the same.

Yet we play football on Boxing day.

So?

That's a free choice, isn't it?

Are people, and companies, not allowed to exercise free choice?

Do you think that somebody should have the power to forbid football clubs from playing matches on Boxing Day?

Do you think that somebody should have the power to forbid football clubs from allowing their players to observe their religious beliefs?

Who are "we", and in what way have we "had it" because a couple of sports organisations allow players to observe their religious beliefs?

Why is it Islamaphibic?
...
If you follow the flow of the comments, especially Ivor's, it's obvious why morqthana asked the question that he did:
Agree with muslims or suffer.
Some implication that Muslims are inherently nefarious.
I doubt they'll get much peace and understanding from the crowd at the stadium.
Followed by a suggestion that spectators would be harrassed if they payed during Ramadan.
Why?
Are football supporters intrinsically Islamophobic?
Morqthana's question is a fair question based on the immediate previous anti-Muslim comments.

Why is it Islamaphibic?
Do we stop for Jews? Would oppose if they stopped for Jews? YES
Hindus,?
Sikhs?
Many forms of Christianity¿
Any other Religion?
I hear the Celtic games up here will be stopped mid way so a condensed Catholic mass can take place in the centre circle.

Perhaps play a bit of footy, then have some sort of multi-religious festival. Swing some incense burners, sing a few hymns, sacrifice a goat. Then play a bit more, then a bit more random religion.

At the same time, perhaps we should incorporate football breaks into religious festivals. Perhaps some keepie-uppies during weddings, have a kickabout during a funeral.

Alternatively, perhaps we could continue just playing footy in the football stadium and keep the religious stuff in the church or mosque.

Keep religion out of sports.

Keep religion out of schools (other than learning the basics).

Keep religion out of workplaces (unless you work in a religious establishment obviously!)

Keep religion for church and home.
