It's intended as a serious allegation, to propagate and perpetuate a myth, and as a silly diversionary tactic because the orator of that comment has exhausted their ability at intelligent debate.

It's as silly as me suggesting that fillyboy, MBK, Spline, John Smith, R&C, Munroast, Koolpc, et al are all the same poster because of their shared Islamophobic ideology and comments.
