Basildon health authority once took on someone to work in Mrs Motties hospital (Orsett) and on their first day they turned up at Basildon hospital. They asked her what she was doing there and she said that she couldn’t get to Orsett (in a small village with poor transport links). They told her the job was at Orsett but she said she'd already bought a monthly bus/train pass for her to get to Basildon. They told her they’d let her work there for that month only but after that she would have to go to Orsett. She went sick with stress on her last week at Basildon. They never saw her at Orsett. The NHS are full of clerical staff like that. It’s a disgrace.

'The Bloody Code' was considered to harsh, which lead to fewer convictions by juries.
So it was not only counter-productive, it increased the number of criminals set free, which would otherwise have been imprisoned.

There's no protection under employment law if you turn up for work at the wrong place.
On the proviso that the advert stated clearly where your place of work would be.
If it didn't state your place of work, it's reasonable to assume you would be working where you were interviewed.
She was lucky to get one months work.
The hospital where she should have worked could have dismissed her immediately.

Even if the hospital dismissed her, and didn't bother contesting any appeal, after one month working, she would have been entitled to a maximum one months sick pay, plus two months at half pay. Then she would have to return to work to qualify for anymore.

And she could be dismissed within her probationary period at any time.
If the hospital did not dismiss her after a short period of sickness, that was a failure by management.

A Reform government will remove leftist judges and fix the jury system to ensure this kind of woke response will not happen this time.

I see, you favour a system where the judicial arm of UK government is removed from the UK democracy? I.e. a move towards an autocracy.

When I joined this forum I thought there was some sensible debate.
I beginning to think there's a lot of nonsense being spouted by people totally unaware of the status quo.
And they're invariably reform supporters.
