loose window handle

I have some loose window handles. Some have obvious screw covers which I can remove, then tighten, and replace.

Two handles do not, like the one in these pictures. I can't see how to presumably(?) remove the flat plate cover, which runs continousuly under the handle, to access the screws. Any help appreciated.

Press the little latch in and turn the thin plate
