People need to be prosecuted for this.

I've only skimmed the article so might be misinterpreting, however based on what I've read (mainly the part below), it's good to see the loophole or whatever you'd called it closed.

The 21-year-old criminology student from Croydon spent most of his savings - £726 - on three test slots, all bought through resellers who snap up appointments and sell them on at inflated prices. The actual cost to take a test is £62. New government rules now mean only a learner driver can book their own test, part of a crackdown on third party operators using bots to hoover up thousands of slots.

The face value cost should be the cost, end of.

I think the article was racist.

Sophie Stuchfield, a driving instructor from Watford, tells the BBC the black market has taken advantage of the demand for earlier test slots.

If you book and buy a slot in the conventional way, is that the white market?
Mottie now in full troll mode.
And trying to ridicule the definition of racism, and being cheered on by others of similar disposition.
But he is known for inventing his own version of definitions for the meaning of words, so no doubt he'll be using his own definition for the future.

It does seem bizarre that this has been allowed to happen.
However, the OP seems to have gone off one one?

Complaining that a legal loophole is being blocked by the government ?
Suggesting that if an opposition party gets in then they will block what the government have already announced as a policy?

I don’t blame the student. However it’s not fair. It’s never been fair, but the internet has allowed people to create a market.
Years ago my mate booked a test in a different town (presumably blocking a local) due to his test centre being under pressure.
Was that fair?

This is another problem caused by immigration - the more people there are in the country, the longer the driving test waiting list will be. The scammers doing the 'reselling' will be foreigners also. Those fools on the thread who think this reselling is a good idea probably think this is 'growth'.

The government caused this yet is claiming to be solving it.

Yes, it’s the “Government’s” problem in that they (the government as an institution, not the administration) because, as Governments do, they react to problems, hardly ever to preempt them.
The existing system fault has existed for over 50 years.

To suggest that the driving test backlog (blamed by the DVLA on Covid and underfunding) is somehow due to “foreigners” makes one doubt the intellectual ability of the proposer. Likely the same type of person who goes on to claim that “foreigners” who do delivery don’t have licences. If they don’t, they shouldn’t be allowed to work and be prosecuted if not.

They have sold off the tow test centres in my area for housing and don’t have the space or examiners in the new one.

Furthermore, the government is paying the recent arrivals for driving lessons and tests. British people are paying for their own test AND paying taxes to pay for others to get a free test and jump ahead of them in the queue.

Hilarious nosall and Bill jumping on the race band wagon(uuhhhhhh that man's brown) and no one mentioned it but them.......priceless
Hilarious? It's pathetic. If somebody said the weather's nice they would start to push their misguided agenda. I can't be the only one who never reads their posts as I know it will be nonsense.
