Hi, we have a leaking shed roof. Put bitumen on it years ago but leaking again now. We're thinking of Siramico liquid rubber as it's only one coat. Most of the reviews on it are about ease of application etc but what I'm really interested in is longevity. Does anyone have experience of putting a liquid rubber coating on a roof and it lasting for years?
Thanks

Felt it not an option?
I know rubber roof it a good option if you can stretch..
Patching isn't the best

Wasn't thinking of felting because it's a flat roof and wasn't sure how to ensure no leaks between felt strips

You can buy repair bitumen ect.
Always use the primer if it advises.
You can use masking to keep area clean as it can get messy.
Just remembered patching isn't always the best nor will it last.

Thanks.
We're not thinking of patching, will be putting liquid rubber across whole roof. Or do you see this as patching and felting is really the best?
Sorry if this is a daft question. No experience with any of this.

What is your roof actually covered with.

Personally I think liquid rubber would be an expensive waste of time. I am a huge rubber roof fan and would recommend it over felt every time. It is a single contiguous surface and very DIY-able

Tetrarch, pretty sure it's bitumen on concrete. Photo attached. Currently in middle of pulling off ivy.

Now we've got ivy off, can see the old bitumen is all cracked and you can just peel it up, back to the old original concrete.
Freddiemercurystwin, are you saying take the concrete roof off entirely?

Or just peel off the bitumin and replace that?

I'd second the suggestion for EPDM, especially if you want it to last.
I've used rubber4roofs a couple of times.

I'll 3rd it, and rubber4roofs - their kit was good, and took me an hour to fit once everything was cleaned up - came with plenty of glue and a tube of sealant for edges.

You cant beat 1 big piece of rubber to cover the lot

Thank you to everyone who's replied. So, we've looked into EPDM, and although that's probably best, it is also a bigger and more expensive job. So we've gone for Siramico liquid rubber which feels more do-able for us. Currently prepping roof for that, getting loose bitumen off etc. When today's heatwave is over, will apply rubber and update how that goes.
