Whats the general concensus on laser guided compound/mitre saws?are they worth having?I recently bought one, albeit a cheapish one,and the laser failed after the first days use,got a replacement without any problems and that failed after half a day, thing is do I pursue it and get another one or give it best and just get one without a laser,it was handy when it worked although the lens did seem to attract sawdust quite easily which rendered it useless.
Only use it occassionally so can't justify spending a fortune

The laser is a waste of time they never last very long, you will soon get on better without it.

Fair play, never had one before so I guess I'm used to not having one, when it was working it wasn't that accurate, just a guide really.
As they(lasers) are so feeble it makes you wonder why they(the manufacturers)even bother with them.
Just peeves me that you pay for something that barely lasts til you get it home, spoke with the makers helpline today they said they would send out a new circuit board as that would be the problem,I asked if it was a recognised fault but they wouldn't say(that's a "yes" then ;) ) don't really see why I should mess about with it and potentially invalidate the warranty though...might as well take it back to B&Q as it's less than a week old!

Mine works fine and I find the laser very handy. It does get covered with sawdust quickly, but it's no hassle to wipe off.
