Grundfos Mitsubishi Heat Pump recirculating pump

I need some advise on a head replacement for a Grundfos pump fitted to a Mitsubishi Ecodan system. DHW circulation pump is stuck (tried unsticking but unsuccessful) and require a replacement. Replacement pump is £900+ which is ludicrous...

    Texecom 64W Expander issue

Quick check- will addressing the expander as 5 also cure the issue with the system seeing "tamper lost N1E1" as per the log file in picture 5?

    Texecom 64W Expander issue

Ahh brilliant thanks- wasn't sure what you meant by addressing the expander as 5 but makes sense now. Is there an option to map zones 41-48 to follow in numerical order? IE zone 1 through to 12 instead of 1-4 and then 41-48

    Texecom 64W Expander issue

Updated to share with public It will only be the one expander on the system as all the contacts/PIR's are hard wired and the main board only having 4 zones. (Sourced the 64W with Ricochet option reserved for future use) Been having the issue since installation and trying to commission, tried...

    Texecom 64W Expander issue

Good afternoon fellow DIY enthusiasts and professionals, I'm in need of some help with an issue I can't seem to fault find and get my head around. Network expander seemingly does not want to operate in N1E1 mode as per pictures- played around with the DIL switches till the cows came home and...

    Enlarging bathroom window

Hey there Stu- The professional look would be down to the bricky ;) I tried doing the brickwork myself but had to take it down as I wasn't happy with it- especially the outside brickwork. To be honest I didn't even bother with putting the lintel extension idea to Bco- doubt they would...

    Sub floor preparation.

Quick hello to all who reads & responds to the post. I'm after a bit of advice and guidance on a floor preparation prior to tiling. Bathroom will consist of a wetroom with underfloor heating. In order to keep the floor as low/original as possible I'm thinking of ripping up the old...

    Enlarging bathroom window

Was meaning to update the post with a picture of the lintel in place but didn't get to it. Lintel in place and bricked up- still waiting for the window to arrive before making an appointment with Bco to come & inspect it. Regards Jack

    Enlarging bathroom window

Hi there Stu- I'll fire an email to Ig in a minute or 2 and see what they come up with- but really can't see a load of 60Kn over 1.8m length To keep things simple I've decided to go with the cavity lintel-phoned Bco up to see if I can add the enlargement to an outstanding application and...

    Enlarging bathroom window

Had the acros delivered on Friday and thought i'd have a go at it the weekend- So far so good- just need to watch the weather now & catch a good day to get the outside done. Quick question on the steel lintel- i've emailed catnic with the details for selecting the lintel and they came back...

    Enlarging bathroom window

True indeed Stuart- that's the problem in the trade as well. It always makes sense up in the office on pc/drawings, but down on site it's a different story. And the somebody need to explain why the job took twice as long as what they "calculated" I'm hoping that the rebar would flex slightly...

    Enlarging bathroom window

Received a reply from hilti today: The intention is/was to drill 4 axial holes to a depth of 100mm into the faces of both lintels. I'm still not sure if this is the path i'd like to venture- but it helps knowing that this is an alternative. Regards Jack

    Enlarging bathroom window

Assuming it's a pre stressed lintel... It's another idea put out there- not saying that I'd be going down that route. I doubt you can call hilti hit a glue- I can assure you that on a pull test the concrete around the rods/bars will fail before the bars pull from the resin. Regards...

    Enlarging bathroom window

I'll email Hilti Uk with the above and see if they recommend joining concrete lintels with before sending off the application (with the email attached) Regards

    Enlarging bathroom window

Hi there Stuart- thanks once again for your reply. If we do decide to continue I'll have a chat to our local Bco and see if they need to issue a cert for the works carried out- already had him over to sign off the drainage that's been diverted and he seems like a nice enough chap. I've had...

    Enlarging bathroom window

Iv'e been speaking to a final year structural engineering student on what he would have done & he came up with something different. I'm not entirely convinced by the idea- so asked him to run it by his tutor. What he proposed is the following: Remove small window and brick it up to lintel...

    Enlarging bathroom window

Ahh right- now I get the picture. The floor joists that I'll be supporting from runs parallel with the wall, so think it would be wise supporting the ceiling/joist from the bottom as well. Thanks once again for your advice- much appreciated Regards

    Enlarging bathroom window

Thanks for your reply Stuart- Suppose it'll give easier access to the lintels having the roof supported from the outside- although that means 5m+ acrows. Would I be able to support from the floor joists rather than from the outside? I'll make sure to take pictures and post them here...

    Enlarging bathroom window

That's another way of looking at it- thanks Stu. Would benefit from removing the bricks above the lintel as I'd be using them to match the outside when blocking up the small window. Catnic lintel would be much easier to handle & prolly half the weight as well. Suppose the roof wouldn't even...
