Front Garden wall knocked down, postcrete poured over - ugly

Bit of a bodge up by the looks of it, from the photos it appears that either side of the mess where the wall was is tarmac. You can buy bitumen repair in bags from diy stores, it might help to cover it up. But first I would round up the posse to chase the cowboy down.

''My letter of appointment is dated 1st April 2014,'' He's taking you for a fool.

    Plastering Courses

Hi, I did a course at a place in Crawley, I just wanted to build some basic skill level so I could attempt some renovation work on my property. For that purpose it was ideal, ended up with some reasonable work that I was happy with and saved money. Fast track courses are no substitute for a...

Tiling uneven wall around shower tray

I had a similar problem with my old cottage walls, I cut into the wall around the shower base by just removing some of the plaster I was able to push the base closer and create a lip above avoiding uneven gaps. Hope this helps. Mike

    Gas Regs

Guys I seem to have opened a discussion point. Thanks for all your efforts on this. this is what my Gas Fitter said: 'The problem you have is that when you do a test on a fire you close all doors and windows in order to do your flue test. (making sure that the flue pulls the product of...

    Gas Regs

Can someone help me regarding the current gas regs for having two gas fires in a through-lounge. I have been told that you can only have one fire operational and therefore the Gas fitter disconnected the other one. the place is being let at the moment and I'm getting contradictions from various...

    Cellar collecting water

Speaking from personal experience, I lived in an old Victorian house within a high water table area. The cellar was wet, but controlled by an automatic pump set in a gulley in one corner. This worked for us. I did consider tanking the cellar but the cost outlay and the fact that the damp could...

    electrical connection in France

Thanks for these, in answer to the first point, the house is open to the elements, although it has a roof this is on its last legs and water is getting in. Water and electricity are not a good mix, I am assuming that EDF will not attempt any type of connection to the house whilst in this state...

    electrical connection in France

Thanks, this is also useful, we are in the process of applying for a permit which EDF require before they will consider any connection.

    electrical connection in France

I am just undertaking a renovation project in France and have acquired a static caravan to use as a temporary living accommodation when out there, so I can be on-site etc. Has anyone experience of getting EDF to connect to the main grid so that we have power. The house is in an uninhabital...

Toyota Corolla T3 2002 - Power Steering Fault

I have an intermitent fault on my power steering, it seems to be weather related, that is I can drive most of the time with no problems if the outside temp is around 15c or above, hence I had a trouble free summer but once we reach the lower Autumn temps, the red warning P/S comes on and I have...

    bathroom layout

I have a small bathroom, 7x9 foot, currently has a bath, washbasin, toilet and shower enclosure. I personally prefer the separate shower arrangement, but my missus would prefer the shower over the bath, giving us a bit more floor space and feels this would make the room more attractive to...
