    Plastic push fit near downlight

    Its abit of a werid set up, theres a T piece further down the line which goes into a joist, so will not move. So your worryed that it might damage it? if so i will change it, dont want to risk it.

    I am about to put a downlight close to a plastic pushfit connetor, it will be about 50mm away. could damage or melt it? one idea is to put tin foil between them to act as a barrier and reflect the heat back.

    thanks jack Just check that link, he is NICEIC. Is it worth doing all the work ourselfs then get it sign off from LABC, or is this to late seeing that weve started the work. Is there anyone else who is in NICEIC and knows about this form?

    right, just spoke to him, he says he uses '3rd person Installation Certificate' and he just signs hes tested it. he says his scheme provider is the only one that uses this certificate. and he notifys building control. does this sound right?

    Thanks for the quick reply If i was to do the work in the kitchen, and got bc in to sign it off, would that work out cheaper. are bc very picky, would they want to see all the new cableing before i put them into the walls, is it a big hassle to get them in? sorry theres some many questions.
