    Retanking situation

Made a major f up on my tiles layout for my first DIY job, I failed and won't go into the gory details but I think i know why it went wrong. I'm back to square one now. I've managed to get the tiles off before the adhesive cured but some of the (Abacus) cement sections on the tilebacker has...

Potential issue as XPS tile backer boards not joint sealed

I used abacus backer board and used the evostick tanking kit. Its taken a while which is why your builder probably isnt doing it. I aint taking any risks as its my first project so might be over cautious and wasting time/mpney but dont want the aggro. If hes sealed between the boards you are...

    Tiling noob help needed.

I had tile and screed on chipboard in a my bathroom. I used a herzo dust shroud with vac and diamond grinding disc to remove it all https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/357121775460 I then found that I had loads of bulges in the chipboard so levelled it off with a screed for the next mug in 20 years to...

Start of my tile work - Floor layout

Can't tile fully under the bath now, I will be doing a tile panel and plan on tanking the bottom of the bath. It was a 90's plastic cover before and never had issues to be fair though.

Can anyone tell me if this is usual finishing to Fascia/soffit/guttering replacement

I did facias/soffit capping last summer myself and i dreaded it being hard to do and coming out looking like rubbish, i thought based on the price of the UPVC i'd punt it and seeing this i'm mega proud now! Which was on ladders and a hire tower for most of it. That amount of upfront cash is not...

    Bath filler water pressure

I have a bath filler and im really not sure its going to be decent enough pressure for filling a bath. Its a scudo with valve. Lots of other oems using this design as well if it helps...

Bath waste level of fall to stack

I am installing a new bath with Mcalpine HC2650 and the hole for this bath is in the middle of it. My stack outlet is in the direct corner so ive done a small straight run then a 45 degree run to the stack. Will I have enough drop on the first section to avoid long term issues as the bath will...

Bath gap to wall at first fix

Because im an impatient cowboy I went with option 1 by 5mm to give me some wiggle room. Only thing I didn't remember was I'd scrimmed before doing the tank up before in the corner but never mind.

Bath gap to wall at first fix

Hiya me again ! I measured 170 exact between walls where the bath will go and its not worked out. Its tight and not square and i dont have any wiggle room to seal it in (is a metal bette bath so not sure if i need to tbh on that but still it is tight and im worried about wall movement etc...

    Concealed WC waste alignment

I've just checked my ensuite that has the same WC as the one i've ripped out and it sits 18cm centred to floor. I'll have about a 2cm gap now though for Tile/Floor consideration so maybe i'll have to get a 20MM offset pan connector.

    Concealed WC waste alignment

Thanks. The bog I've just ripped out must have had this sloped arrangement too tbh. It had another 110mm pipe section that must have had this slope in it then 90 degree bend, hence why I bought this new section thinking it would be suitable. Good point on removal from the junction, number 1...

    Concealed WC waste alignment

I am doing a concealed wc at the moment. The existing soil pipe is too low. Current centre of the outlet is 140mm When i minus 10mm tile +substrate ill be looking at this being 120mm. Will 60mm offset work here?

    Bathroom Fan question

I'm doing my bathroom too. I've put mine half way over the bath but if i probably did this again i'd do it in the far end corner near the shower end. Bear in mind distance to the outlet from the hole, you'll need it on higher which will be noisy. Also recommend using solid UPVC piping not...

    Tiling onto browning - Technical

I'd be using a better substrate as in use tilebacker XPS or Hardie backer on the walls, then tank it.

    Bette bath universal fixing issue

Just put the new leg replacement on. The old legs came off spinning the bath around lol. Wonder if you can we redo this nut as they are perfectly fine legs.

    10mm bow in chipboard

Thanks for the input. I wasnt sure if building up tileadhesive would be suitable based on the depth. Could do 12mm hardie on this section as well potentially. Maybe worrying too much as usual!
