Hi all im slightly concerned that ive chanelled too much thermalite block out. Its about 50mm for a shower valve. The channel on the right side can be filled in as that isnt needed now. Should I be worried and should I fill in with a mortar mix?

Will be London brick on the other side so guess so?

I have installed a loft light off my last downlight but this will always be on when the landing lights are on which is a bit of a pain. Can I add a switch between the last downlight and loft light?
