    thankyou, so glad you replied, after you mentioned the wiggling bit its the only thing i didnt do, gave it a wiggle and a bit of movement and its out so now on to removing the cartridge

    hi thanks for everyones replies, unfortunately we cant remember where we got the tap so no chance of tracking that down and no makers name on it. i will look at a o ring kit but take the point its probably worn so i will have to just give a bit of trial and error. thanks
